TRIBE NOTES From Jacobs Field

Old friends: Seven former Indians are on the Red Sox' roster: Coco Crisp, David Riske, Josh Bard, Julian Tavarez, Rudy Seanez, Alex Cora and Manny Ramirez. Cleveland traded Crisp, Bard and Riske to Boston in January for Guillermo Mota, Andy Marte and Kelly Shoppach. Crisp (fractured left index finger) and Riske (lower back strain) are both on the 15-day DL and will not see action against the Indians this week.
Attendance, weather: Some 18,438 fans attended Tuesday's contest, which began with a game-time temperature of 42 degrees.
On the mend: Starter C.C. Sabathia should rejoin Cleveland's rotation next week, if all goes well in his rehab start in AAA Buffalo on Thursday. The lefthander threw 67 pitches in a simulated game last Saturday in Kansas City. He said he felt no pain from the pulled rib cage muscle that forced him to go on the disabled list after the season opener.
Under the knife: Cleveland reliever Matt Miller will undergo surgery today to debride and repair the flexor tendon in his right elbow. He was injured April 19 against Baltimore was placed on the disabled list April 20.
Canfield and Poland: Two Mahoning Valley baseball teams -- Poland and Canfield -- will experience playing at Jacobs Field on May 4 when they play each other as part of the third annual Cleveland Indians Charities High School Hardball Classic. The rivals will play at 5 p.m. on May 4 as part of a tripleheader. Six games will be played during the two-day event. All proceeds benefit numerous education and recreation programs that serve the youth of Northeast
Ohio and funded by Cleveland Indians Charities.
Hitting streak: Catcher Victor Martinez has hit safely in every game that he has recorded an official at-bat and currently has a 16-game hitting streak -- the longest in the majors. He has reached base via hit or walk in all 20 games this season.
Closer: Right-hander Bob Wickman is one save shy of tying Doug Jones (129) for the most saves in Indians history. Wickman has saved his last 20 chances dating back to last August 6. His career-high is 21 consecutive saves.
