School bus hits pole

WARREN -- Electric service was cut to two customers for several hours Tuesday morning after a Community Bus Service driver hit a utility pole in the Harding High School parking lot.
Kathy Baltes, assistant facilities manager for Community Bus, said the driver had dropped off students and was driving through the parking lot. The driver swerved to avoid vehicles in the lot and hit the pole. No students were on the bus at the time.
A transformer on the pole fell to the ground next to the bus. Ohio Edison restored the power and attended to the transformer, said LuAnn Koch, area manager for Ohio Edison's Trumbull County operations.
The bus attendant, Brenda Rodgers, a Community Bus employee, had not yet returned to her seat when the accident occurred and was tossed a bit in the collision, Baltes said. Rodgers was treated at St. Joseph Health Center.
