Police find tub stolen from Austintown store after receiving tip

AUSTINTOWN -- A hot tub that was stolen from a Mahoning Avenue store was found in Youngstown, according to police.
The tub was stolen sometime between Saturday and Sunday after a gate to a lot was left open at Caribbean Pools and Hot Tubs, 4728 Mahoning Ave. A forklift had apparently been used to take the tub, which was awaiting delivery to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, according to Austintown police.
Youngstown police made an arrest in the case Monday after a caller reported seeing a hot tub behind a residence on Homestead Avenue in the city, according to Youngstown police.
Police said the serial number matched the one from the tub stolen in Austintown, and Tasha Petaccio, 29, was charged with receiving stolen property.
Petaccio told police she bought the tub from a man named Larry at the Casaloma bar on April 19, the report said.
Make-A-Wish employees contacted said they could not comment on why the tub was being donated. Their spokesperson was not available to comment.
