Drop-off set for household items

BOARDMAN -- Youngstown State University's re:CREATE program is inviting Boardman Township residents to get rid of unwanted but usable household items by dropping them off at the township building between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
YSU recycling runs a Drop & amp; Go program for its student residents at the end of each semester, encouraging students to leave their unwanted but usable items behind rather than throw them into the trash.
The items are then donated to help people in need through the Rescue Mission and Goodwill or other nonprofit groups.
The university is taking its Drop & amp; Go program to the township building at 8299 Market St. The Mahoning County Green Team and the township are helping to sponsor the event.
Things such as working but nonhazardous household items, baby items, beds, canned goods, carpet in good condition, clothing, furniture in good condition, luggage, tableware and Tupperware will be accepted.
Residents are advised not to bring any appliances, auto parts, bathtubs, computers, hospital or sofa beds, hot water tanks, paint, tires, pianos and organs, scrap metal, solvents or trash.
