UPDATING THE PLAN

UPDATING THE PLAN
Step by step
The process by which Mahoning County's Solid Waste District Plan Update must be adopted is as follows:
A draft of the master plan was sent to Ohio Environmental Protection Agency last October for comments and revisions.
A final meeting between Mahoning County Commissioners' Recycling Division and the EPA will occur in the next few weeks.
The ratification process will begin with a comment and explanation period. Copies of the master plan will be available at all public libraries for 30 days, and public hearings will be scheduled.
The recycling division's policy committee will formally approve the plan.
Each political subdivision will be asked to approve resolutions in support of the plan. Youngstown, as the largest municipality in the county, will be asked first. County commissioners will have the final vote.
