Six Democrats are seeking the Democratic nomination for the 60th District seat. There is no Republican running for the post.
ROBERT F. HAGAN
Age: 57.

Priority: Lowering the cost of health care, and focusing on the need to find alternative energy sources.
RICHARD A. GOZUR
Age: 53.
Home: 323 Porter Ave., Campbell.
Employment: Campbell Memorial High School principal.
Education: Master's and bachelor's degrees in education from Youngstown State University; a 1970 Campbell Memorial High School graduate.
Family: Wife, Judy; two sons.
Priority: Improving the state's education and health care systems.
IAN STUBLAREC
Age: 24.
Home: 1617 Canfield Road, Youngstown.
Employment: Permanent substitute teacher for the Youngstown school system.
Education: Bachelor's degree in political science from Otterbein College; Chaney High School graduate.
Family: Single.
Priority: To change the public education funding system.
MICHAEL J. LATESSA
Age: 26.
Home: 540 Cambridge Ave., Youngstown.
Employment: Former accounting intern and staff accountant for Cohen & amp; Co. in Youngstown; leaving to run for this seat.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University; Cardinal Mooney High School.
Family: Single.
Priority: To rework the education system to make it effective and fair for everyone.
DANIEL R. YEMMA
Age: 48.
Home: 232 Center St., Struthers.
Employment: Owner and operator of Capital Financial Solutions Inc. and a Struthers city councilman.
Education: Master's and bachelors degrees in business administration from YSU; Struthers High School graduate.
Family: Two sons.
Priority: Reforming the education system by first looking at states with successful system of funding public schools.
RUFUS G. HUDSON
Age: 50.
Home: 2156 McGuffey Road, Youngstown.
Employment: Coordinator of YSU's Metro Marketing program and a Youngstown city councilman.
Education: Took graduate courses at Prairie View A & amp;M University in Texas; bachelor's degree in political studies from YSU; North High School graduate.
Family: Wife, Sylvia; a daughter.
Priority: To create jobs through the expansion of renewal community designations, entertainment districts, tax-free zones, joint economic development districts, tax abatements and partnerships.
Two Republicans are seeking the 61st District seat. Democrat Mark D. Okey of Carrollton faces no opposition in his party's primary.
RANDY POPE
Age: 46.
Home: 2422 Shunk Ave., Alliance.
Employment: A skilled laborer at Longaberger Manufacturing.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration from Cedarville University.
Family: Wife, Rhonda; four children.
Priority: To use my business background to streamline essential services in the state budget and eliminate nonessential programs.
BRANT A. LUTHER
Age: 31.
Home: 770 N. Lincoln Ave., Alliance.
Employment: A staff attorney for Stark County Probate Court.
Education: A law degree from the University of Akron Law School and a bachelor's degree in political science from Hillsdale College in Michigan; a Salem Wesleyan Academy graduate.
Family: Wife, Merrilee.
Priority: To collaborate with local communities to create a more business-friendly atmosphere in the state.
Two Republicans are seeking the 99th District seat. State Rep. L. George Distel of Conneaut is unopposed in the Democratic primary.
WILLIAM PIKOR
Age: 54.
Home: 6856 Trumbull Road, Thompson.
Employment: Owner of Pikor Technical Products.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration from Dana College in Blair, Neb.; a graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville.
Family: Three children.
Priority: Attracting new businesses and more training for workers.
DONALD ROGERS
Age: 29.
Home: 8447 Main St., Kinsman.
Employment: A lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Vienna.
Education: A 1994 Niles McKinley High School graduate.
Family: Wife, Angela.
Priority: To stop "runaway" state spending, incorporate a school curriculum that concentrates on the mastery of basic skills, protect the sanctity of life in all situations, and protect the Second Amendment.
