XPORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Oregon Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the setting March 25 for the wedding of Sheena Farris and Ryan Shurtz, both of Rexburg, Idaho.
Parents of the bride are Jim and Cindy Farris, 312 Crimson Circle, Campbell, and the groom's parents are John and Jeanie Shurtz, 8566 Saghalie Drive, Salem.
The couple were honored at a reception held at the home of the groom's parents and during another reception March 31 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Liberty.
After a wedding trip to the San Juan Islands, the couple live in Rexburg.
Adrianne Farris was her sister's honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Heather Ford and the groom's sister, Rachael Ellis. Junior bridesmaids were his sisters, Amy Shurtz, Natalie Shurtz and Megan Shurtz.
The groom's brother, Adam Shurtz, performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Jimmy Farris, the bride's brother, and David Ellis, a brother-in-law of the groom.
The bride graduated from Brigham Young University, Rexburg Branch, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is a seventh- and eighth-grade English teacher with Ririe Idaho School District in Idaho.
The groom is studying on a medical research internship at Boise State University in Idaho.
