Struthers edges past Campbell

STRUTHERS -- The Struthers High softball team scored two runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good, defeating Campbell 4-1 in a Metro Athletic Conference game on Friday.
Brittany Bovo (6-1) scattered five hits with six strikeouts to pick up the win for the Wildcats (8-4, 4-2).
Sara Salinas, Annie Grischow, Jeannette McLaughlin and Sam Ditman hit a double apiece for Struthers.
Jamie Dolan hit a pair of singles to pace the Red Devils.
Ursuline 8, Parma Heights Holy Name 2
TOLEDO -- Vannessa Dickson hit a two-run homer, a triple and a single and finished with three RBIs to lead Ursuline at the Toledo St. Ursula Invitational Tournament at the Monsignor Jerome Schmidt CYO Complex.
Starter Heather Shadden and reliever Ashley Koval, who pitched the final inning, combined on a seven-hitter for Ursuline (11-7).
Holy Name is 8-4.
Salem 11, Warren Harding 0
WARREN -- Salem pitcher Brittany Gregory (6-4) threw a two-hit shutout over five innings, striking out six and walking five to get the win. Gregory also had two hits.
Mikenzie Clark had three hits, while Bridget Szabat, Jordyn Hissom, Katie Malloy and Jessica Matthews each added two hits for the Quakers (6-6).
Mathews 9, Southington 2
SOUTHINGTON -- Mathews senior Rachel Woolf had two hits, including her first career home run, and Caitlyn Youngs had two hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs (12-3-1, 6-1) in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
Youngs (10-1-1) struck out 11 and walked two to get the win. Amber Jarvis and Jessie Hall each added two hits.
Southington is 3-7, 2-4.

ROOTSTOWN -- Danielle Kaley (1-2) threw a three-hit shutout for the Pirates (5-7, 4-7) in a Portage Trail Conference game.
Jen Gahagan added three hits and two RBIs.
