Romanian Orthodox church gets parish priest



YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Cosmin G. Antonescu has been assigned as a parish priest at Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, 626 Wick Ave. He received his official appointment March 24 at the Youngstown church.
Father Cosmin was born in Sibiu, Romania. He attended the Orthodox Theological Seminary of Alba-Iulia, County Alba, Romania, and graduated in 1999. He also graduated from The Faculty of Orthodox Theology "Andrei Saguna" of Sibiu, County Sibiu, Romania.
Father Cosmin and his wife, Camelia, were married in 1999 and have a son, Robert, 4. They came to the U.S. in December 2003.
Father Cosmin was received by the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America in Grass Lake, Mich., which is part of the Orthodox church in America.
He was assigned to the Holy Resurrection Church in Warren as a sub-deacon. He was ordained as a deacon in December 2004, and served the ROEA in Michigan.
He was ordained a priest Dec. 25, 2005.
