Provitt MVP as Harding wins easily at Lakeview



CORTLAND -- The Warren Harding High boys track team scored 128 points to capture the team title Saturday in the Lakeview Invitational track and field meet.
Jefferson finished second with 80 and Warren JFK was third with 75.
Jay Provitt of Warren Harding, the meet MVP, set a meet record in winning the 200-meter dash in 21.6 seconds. He also took first place in the 100 (10.7) and was a member of the Raiders' winning 4x200 and 4x100 relays.
Ryan Gilanyi of Southington was running MVP. He took first place in the 1600 (4:44.4) and 800 (2:02.5) and was a member of the Wildcats' winning 4x800 relay and fifth-place 4x400 relay.
Jim Michalec of Mathews was the field events MVP. He was first in the shot put (44 feet, 1 1/4 inches) and the discus (137-11).
Lakeview won the girls crown with 123 points. Warren JFK was second with 97 and Chagrin Falls was third with 68.
Bevilacqua girls' MVP
Nicole Bevilacqua of Lakeview was girls meet MVP. She took first place in the 100 (12.9) and the 200 (27.4) and was a member of the second place 4x100 relay.
Audrey Mahue of Warren JFK was running MVP. She took first place in the 800 in a stadium record (2:20.4). She was a member of winning 4x800 and 4x400 relays and was second in the 3200 (12:34.2).
Kelcie Hellmer of Jefferson was MVP of the field events. She won the high jump (5-2) and was third in the long jump.
Kari Haywood of Brookfield was first in the 100 hurdles (16.7) and the 300 hurdles (48.1).
