'Left Behind' to be shown
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road, will show "Left Behind, the Movie" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The movie, based on a book, deals with an overseas flight in which passengers vanish and implications about end times taken from the Book of Revelation. The event is free.
Children's choir
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rosebud's Children's Choir will mark its 36th anniversary during a musical program at 4 p.m. April 30 at New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert St. The event will include other children and youth choirs and mime teams.
Retreat for women
NEW WATERFORD -- Lake Mount Church of Christ, 6290 state Route 7, will hold its second annual ladies retreat, "In the Potter's Hands" on April 29. Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude with a prayer circle at 4 p.m. The main speaker will be Anna Rae Manges, who attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Lincoln Christian College and Oakland City College. Guest minister
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Living Word Christian Center, 21 S. Maysville Road, will host Willie Santago as guest minister at a service planned at 10 a.m. April 30. He is affiliated with the Eagle Rock Covenant Network of Churches, Jovianos, Cuba.
Healing Mass
COLUMBIANA -- A charismatic healing Mass with the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated at 4 p.m. April 30 at St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., with the Rev. John Gordon, associate director of pre-theologate program at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Praise music will begin at 3:45. Refreshments will follow the service. New Life in the Spirit of Prayer Group is the sponsor.
Musical event
BOARDMAN -- Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will present a "praise-a-palooza '06" at 6 p.m. today featuring The Elms, Peoples of Gershon, Will Jones, Identity and the Kerlin Ministry. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Praise gathering
ALLIANCE -- "Alabanza! A Gathering to Praise God" is planned from 2:30 to 10 p.m. today in Timken Physical Education Building at Mount Union College. The event, sponsored by the Religious Life Council, will feature The Swift, a contemporary Christian band from Nashville, Tenn. The cost is $5 for students and $15 for adults at the door.
Drama planned
SALEM -- Salem Community Fellowship, 1909 N. Ellsworth Ave., will present "Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames, a biblical drama, at 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday. Admission is free.
Power prayer
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Joy Chickonoski will speak on "Power Prayer, Shattering Strongholds through Prayer" at 6 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Chapel, 1224 N. Belle Vista Ave.
Giving testimony
CANFIELD -- Raelyn Tsarnas of Austintown will offer testimony with humor and inspiration during a program at 7 p.m. Monday at Lifecare Ministry Center, 5357 Shields Road. She is a member of Preservation of Sharing Stories and Tales.
Appreciation banquet
YOUNGSTOWN -- The United Methodist Community Care Center, 334 N. Pearl St., will hold its fifth annual appreciation banquet to honor people who have helped the center. The event will be at 5:30 p.m. April 29 at Warren First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave. A presentation for volunteer of the year will be given posthumously to Paul Melvin and will be accepted by his son, Richard. The Youngstown Connection will perform. The opening of the Warren site, located at 760 Main Ave. S.W., formerly the Rebecca Williams Center, will be announced.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Shenango Valley Baptist Association will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Morning Star Baptist Church, 747 Willow St. The speaker will be the Rev. Lee Ruckor, pastor of Living Water Baptist Church. The theme is "Committed to Teach."

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Ministry of Righteousness Being Restored will present the video, "The Bait of Satan," at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Portland Room at Omni Assisted Living Center, 3259 Vestal Road. Praise and worship will begin the program.
