BASEBALL
Bethany 1-8, Westminster 0-6 -- Bethany junior Brett Bartholomew (Boardman) pitched a two-hitter in the opener and senior 3B Eric Sperlazza snared a line drive to start a game-ending double play to preserve a game-two victory and give the Bison baseball team a PAC doubleheader sweep. The sweep runs Bethany's (10-19, 6-5) winning streak to five games. The Titans are 15-15, 3-8.
Mount Union 6-5, Wilmington 5-4 -- In the opener, the Raiders scored the winning run with one out in the last of the 13th inning. In the nightcap, the Raiders (19-11, 8-4 OAC) scored the winning run with one out in the last of the eighth inning.
SOFTBALL
Bethany 3-3, Thomas More 0-5 -- Bethany senior pitcher Angie DeSantis scattered six hits in the opener, but Thomas More (20-12-1, 6-2) rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win the nightcap over the Bison (14-20, 4-6). Bethany CF Emily Patton (Poland) reached on an infield single in the sixth inning of the nightcap but could not score.
