Dinner to raise funds for ill boy

YOUNGSTOWN -- A benefit dinner for the Owen A. Waller Benefit Fund is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 213, South Avenue and Miller Street.
At the age of 21 months, Owen was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) Pre-B Cell, and is undergoing chemotherapy, blood transfusions and bone marrow tests.
Dinner, which is $7 per person, features choices of ribs and fries or chicken Parmesan.
There will also be karaoke, a Chinese auction, an auction of donated items, raffles and prizes, including a La-Z-Boy chair.
People who want to donate toward Owen's medical expenses can send or bring a check or money order, made payable to the Owen A. Waller Benefit Fund, to the First National Bank, 7025 Market St., or any of its branch locations.
