Fundraisers to aid New Orleans work

The Leetonia St. Vincent de Paul Society will have two fundraisers to help defray travel expenses for two Operation Helping Hands home restoration work teams going to New Orleans on June 17-25. A second work crew is scheduled in October.
A spaghetti dinner is planned from 6 to 8 tonight at St. John the Baptist Church social hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell.
A second fundraiser, an Amish dinner, is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. May 19 at St. Paul School, 925 E. State St., Salem. The Amish dinner must be prepaid by May 8 by mailing a check for $12 to St. Vincent de Paul Disaster Relief, St. Patrick Church, 167 Main St., Leetonia, Pa. 44431.
Operation Helping Hands has taken teams of volunteers to New Orleans to work in damaged neighborhoods to help mostly elderly and disabled people who are financially unable to fix their homes damaged by the hurricanes.
