Warren family sues East Ohio Gas Co.

WARREN -- A family whose home was damaged during a 2004 natural gas explosion has sued Dominion East Ohio Gas Co. for injuries and damage caused by the blast.
Nicholas and Tracey Macrinos and their two minor children, of Raccoon Drive Northeast, filed the lawsuit this week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. The case is assigned to Judge Peter Kontos.
The lawsuit says an explosion occurred inside the home of their next-door neighbor, Randy Mansfield, because the gas company negligently serviced the gas stove in Mansfield's home Nov. 23, 2004, producing an explosion later in the day.
The lawsuit says the family suffered bodily injury, mental injury, damage to the home and contents. The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $25,000 on each of 20 counts, totaling $500,000, as well as interest and court costs.
News reports at the time said the explosion did not cause any injuries. The explosion leveled Mansfield's two-story home and damaged several other nearby homes, authorities said.
