YOUNGSTOWN -- Several players are ranked among the national leaders in NCAA statistical categories.
Senior Tiffany Patteson is tied as the toughest player to strike out with just one in 76 at-bats. Patteson also ranks fourth in the nation with 0.16 triples per game.
Junior Karlie Burnell ranks 10th nationally with three saves while freshman Kristen McDonnell is 26th with 0.35 doubles per game.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Sophomore Adrianna DiLonardo and freshman Ryan Stocke were named Horizon League golfers of the week.
DiLonardo sparked the Penguins to their first tournament win since the Horizon League championship in 2003 with a first-place finish at the Loyola Rambler Invitational. She had a two-round score of 154 (76-78) to win by four strokes.
Stocke placed third at the Bullock Collegiate Classic. He finished 4 over par 220. It marked the best finish of his career and it was his third top-seven finish this season.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rayen School classes of 1981 and 1986 are sponsoring a basketball game against East High, featuring former players of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s today at 7 p.m. at Rayen. Doors open at 6.
Members of Rayen's 1985 state championship team will play as well as former all city players from both schools.
Rayen's Floyd Showers (1985), Rod Jennings (1979) and Lawrence Culver (1992), along with East's Darnell Bracy (1992), Aundra Brown (1987) and Tim Rutledge (1987) are some of the players scheduled to play.
Terry Taylor, a 1980 graduate of Rayen. will coach the Tigers.
Junior Phantomswin Youth tourney
BOARDMAN -- The Mahoning Valley Junior Phantoms Bantam team won the recent Pittsburgh Amateur Penguins Tournament in Cranberry, Pa.
The Phantoms defeated the Pennsylvania Eagles, 9-0; the Pittsburgh Huskies, 6-1; and the Pittsburgh Amateur Penguins, 5-2. They also defeated the Penguins 4-2 in the championship game.
For the tournament, the Phantoms were led by Ryan Taylor, who scored seven goals, including two hat tricks, and added seven assists in the four games.
John Vanasdale had six goals and three assists. Also scoring were Ryan Rinko (5 goals, 2 assists), Adam Hogan (2-3), Scott McKee (2-1), C.J. Westlake (1-4) and Jared Taylor (1-3).
Contributing one assist each were Adam Robertson, Jacob Sines and Jimmy Lacko. Other team members were Hunter Thompson, Ben Jensen, T.J. Lindquist and Devrim Olgun.
Jesse Koewacich recorded all the wins in goal, stopping 70 of 75 shots for a .933 save percentage.
The Bantam team concludes its season by playing host to an game against the Croatian Under-15 Select Team on Wednesday at The Ice Zone. Face-off is 7 p.m. and admission is free.

Browns setpreseason dates
BEREA -- The Cleveland Browns will play home preseason games Aug. 18 and Aug. 31.
The Browns will open the exhibition season Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Philadelphia. On Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Browns will play host to the Lions.
The Browns travel Buffalo Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. then play host to the Bears at 8 p.m. Aug. 31.
Single game tickets will go on sale in July.
Ohio State football
COLUMBUS -- Ohio State punter Tyson Gentry was injured during practice Friday, a university spokesman said.
Gentry, 20, was taken to Ohio State University Medical Center with a head injury, according to fire officials. His family requested no information be released on his condition, hospital administrator Tai Shamsher said.
Ohio State spokesman Steve Snapp declined to release details.
Gentry, a 6-foot-2, 165-pound punter, is from Sandusky.
Penn State footballbackup injured
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State backup Austin Scott has hurt his left knee, slowing down another member of the Nittany Lions' nicked-up backfield in spring practice.
Initial indications are that the injury Scott sustained Wednesday is not serious, a team spokesman said Friday. The squad is taking this weekend off, and Scott will likely be evaluated again early next week.
His availability for next week's Blue-White game, which caps spring practice, is unclear.
