WHAT POLL SAYS ABOUT PEEPS

WHAT POLL SAYS ABOUT PEEPS
Just Born recently released its "2006 State of Marshmallow Peeps" survey. Here are some of the findings:
Although the yellow-colored chick is the iconic Peep, the Peep bunny was voted most beautiful and best-dressed Peep.
Those polled believe that President George W. Bush is the public figure most in need of a Peep -- picked by 19.4 percent of respondents. He was followed by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (9.1 percent) and New York Senator Hillary Clinton (8.5 percent).
The celebrities pegged as most resembling Peeps were media diva Oprah Winfrey and comedian Drew Carey. Just Born officials say neither should be offended -- Peeps are fat-free.
Respondents preferred eating fresh Peeps over "matured" Peeps by a 3-1 margin. Three percent of respondents prefer eating Peeps frozen.

ABOUT THE CANDY
Despite the Marshmallow Peeps' Internet popularity, it's not the most popular candy on Easter morning.
According to the National Confectioners Association, more than half of children grab for a chocolate bunny first on Easter morning, followed by "marshmallow treats" (18 percent), malted milk balls/eggs (17 percent) and jelly beans (16 percent). Seventy-six percent of Americans think chocolate bunnies should be eaten ears-first. Only 4 percent favored starting at the bunny's tail.
