Volunteers sought for Pymatuning cleanup

LINESVILLE, Pa. -- Volunteers are invited to join area residents and state officials from the departments of Environmental Protection and Conservation and Natural Resources in the third annual Great Pennsylvania Cleanup at Pymatuning State Park.
Cleanup will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in conjunction with Earth Day. This year the cleanup will focus on Audubon Pennsylvania's 82 important bird areas.
Pymatuning is the largest reservoir in Pennsylvania. The cleanup will focus on two heavily used areas of the park -- the spillway at the northern end of the sprawling reservoir and Shelter No. 4 near the Jamestown Marina at the southern tip of the park.
Volunteers need to register by Thursday to Linda Armstrong at (724) 932-3142 or larmstrong@state.pa.us or Freda Tarbell at (814) 332-6816 or ftarbell@state.pa.us.
