MERCER COUNTY Brass knuckles bring jail time for Sharon man



MERCER, Pa. -- A Sharon man will serve a jail term for having brass knuckles.
Judge John Reed of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Jason Thompson, 24, of Sherman Avenue, to six to 12 months in the Mercer County Jail followed by a two years' probation.
Thompson pleaded guilty to prohibited offensive weapons, simple assault and false reports to law enforcement authorities, all misdemeanors.
Court documents state that on March 7, 2005, he struck a woman in the forehead, causing her a wound that had to be treated at a hospital; that during an April 2005 traffic investigation, he gave Sharon Police a false name and birth date; and that he had brass knuckles when apprehended at his residence Oct. 2, 2005.
Also sentenced were:
UDiana Walsh, 31, of Warner Road, Kinsman, one to three months in jail followed by a one year's probation for felony escape. Court documents state Walsh failed to return to the jail Oct. 20, 2005, after she was granted a temporary leave to search for employment. She was serving a sentence for possession of drug paraphernalia.
UJamie Zaboroski, 25, of East Market Street, Mercer, placed on one year's probation for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. On Jan. 8, 2005, court documents state, she was arrested at a Drake Road, Springfield Township, residence with more than 3.5 ounces of marijuana.
