Group to lead walking tour of downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN -- A walking tour of downtown will be at 4 and 6 p.m. April 29 led by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society Young Leaders Advisory Board.
Leann Rich, historical society administrative assistant and museum shop manager, said tours will begin at 20 Federal Place, the former Phar-Mor Building, and last 90 minutes to two hours.
Rich said the tour's focus will be downtown's history, commercial buildings and residences, and how the downtown has developed in the past 200 years.
During the tour, guides will point out landmarks and the current landscape from the same vantage point as that of historical photographs, Rich said.
