Fight with woman over $1.25 puts man in jail

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police charged a man with domestic violence after a fight over $1.25.
Police responded to a call to a Brentwood Avenue home around 7:15 p.m. Thursday. They found Edward Rue, 45, standing in the street with his hands on top of his head, and a woman sitting on the front porch, crying hysterically.
"I did it. Take me to jail," Rue said as police approached.
The woman said Rue asked her for $1.25 and when she said she didn't have it, he grabbed her by the ankles and pulled her off the floor, dragging her through the living room and into the kitchen, where he hit her several times.
She said her foot hurt but refused treatment.
Police took Rue to the Mahoning County jail.
