CEREMONY Masons to dedicate new building Saturday

LISBON -- New Lisbon Masonic Lodge will dedicate its new building at 36192 state Route 172 during a traditional ceremony to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Previously located at 129 E. Lincolnway, the lodge will now occupy the building formerly owned by the Church of Christ.
Ohio's top Masonic officers will participate in the dedication, which will be conducted according to customs handed down by Masons for more than 200 years with corn, wine and oil used as symbols of faith, hope and charity.
As part of the observance, the Lodge and its 182 members will be rededicated to continued service to members and the community.
The Lodge was chartered on Aug. 23, 1859, and is one of 12 Masonic lodges in Columbiana County. It contributes to charitable programs in the community, to the Ohio Masonic Home, Ronald McDonald House and Children's Learning Center. It solicits for Muscular Dystrophy and each year sponsors one athlete in the "Sponsor an Athlete" program for Special Olympics Ohio Summer games in Columbus.
Throughout the year the lodge participates in various projects such as participating in the Shaker Woods Festival in August and Christmas in the Woods in October, holding a free family picnic and scavenger auction, providing a free breakfast for members and their families, and serving as host group for a District 24 education meeting.
