2 injured in separate shootings

WARREN -- City police are investigating two shootings Saturday that have left two people seriously injured.
David L. Owens, 31, of Highland Avenue, and Kelli D. Brooks, 37, of Parkman Road, were in critical condition Saturday night in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
Police said Owens was found around 5:15 a.m. at the dead-end of Front Street by a guard at the nearby Warren Recycling plant after he heard six gunshots.
A hospital spokeswoman said Owens suffered wounds to the head. No arrests have been made.
Police said Brooks was shot with a small-caliber gun, possibly a .22-caliber, while in the living room of her home at 276 Parkman.
The shooting was reported to police shortly after midnight Friday. No arrests have been made.
Police said after being wounded in the face and neck, Brooks crawled out of her home and onto the front yard, where a passer-by spotted her and called police. A spent .22-caliber shell was recovered at the scene.
Both Owens and Brooks were initially treated at St. Joseph Heath Center here before being transferred to St. Elizabeth's.
