Westminster (10-12) swept a non-conference doubleheader against visiting Mount Aloysius College (10-16) by scores of 5-3 and 6-2. Game one saw Westminster plate four runners in the second for a 4-0 lead. After the Mounties scored three in the top of the sixth to draw within a run, the Titans added an insurance tally in the bottom of the sixth. Brenton Gilmore went the distance on the hill, as the southpaw improved to 2-2 after allowing three runs. Freshman shortstop Nicholas Maiorano (New Castle H.S.) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and freshman John Izzo (New Castle Union) blasted a solo home run -- his third. The nightcap saw the Titans complete the sweep as they posted a four-run sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie. After a pair of bases loaded walks put the Titans up 4-2, Don Kirkwood (Neshannock H.S.) put the game away with a two-run double. On the mound, Andy Robison (Wilmington Area) earned his first win of the season.
Grove City 4-11, Waynesburg 5-2
Grove City split a PAC doubleheader. Grove City (16-6, 8-4 PAC) remains in a virtual tie for the PAC lead with Washington and Jefferson (4-2 PAC).
Grove City jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning of Game Two. Chris Schwamberger opened the game with a double and eventually scored on an error. Jerry Ott added a run-scoring single later in the inning while in the second, Schwamberger singled in Ben Wilson. Schwamberger had two doubles and a career-high five runs batted in while Ott doubled and drove in three runs.. Erik Arnesen fired a complete game to improve to 5-0. In the opener, Waynesburg (12-12-1, 4-5 PAC) took a 5-1 lead. Chris Bowser took the loss for Grove City, allowing three runs in three innings.

Beaver Falls -- The doubleheader sweep helped the Golden Tornadoes improve to 21-12 and 5-9 in the AMC North. Mike Williams, Mike Bruno, Rob Arata and Rob Janik had three hits apiece.

Westminster fired a four-player total of 434 to finish in second place at the Thiel College Invitational at the Greenville C.C. Westminster finished 52 strokes behind tournament champion Washington & amp; Jefferson (382). Firing the low round for Westminster was junior Kelly Spisak, who finished third with 96. Freshman Danielle McCullough carded 128.
Softball
Westminster (14-14) ran its winning streak to five games with a doubleheader sweep over Saint Vincent (6-20). Westminster posted a 1-0 win in the opener before completing the sweep by rallying for a 6-1 victory in game two. Game one pitcher Jennifer Pancake of Boardman H.S. fired a one-hit masterpiece with three strikeouts for the Lady Titans. It was Pancake's second consecutive complete game shutout and fourth of the season, as the junior has not allowed an earned run in her last 22 2/3 innings in the circle. In the nightcap, Westminster rallied with a six-run sixth to complete the sweep. Sophomore Sarah Henry (Bristol H.S.) improved to 3-3 with the complete game pitching win, as she allowed one run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts. At the plate, Pancake had two hits while Maria Joseph (New Castle H.S.) was 2-for-3.

Westminster (6-9, 3-3 PAC) captured four of six singles matches and two of three doubles contests. Ryan Mistovich (Boardman H.S.) won at third singles.
Thiel 8, Washington & amp; Jefferson 1--In its final Presidents' Athletic Conference match before the PAC Championship Tournament April 21-22, Thiel posted an 8-1 win over Washington & amp; Jefferson.
