GIRARD
April 10
Breaking and entering: Nothing appeared to have been stolen after someone forced open a garage door at Maderitz Electric, 1247 S. State St.
Assault: A 14-year-old Girard boy told police another boy kicked him, causing him to fall, jumped on him and punched him in the face while he was walking near Taylor Street. The 14-year-old had a minor injury.
April 11
Theft: A woman in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue discovered four or five checks missing from her car.
Misuse of a credit card: A man in the 1600 block of Oak Street found out someone obtained his bank debit card number and used it to make $274 worth of fraudulent purchases.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 500 block of North Avenue reported someone deliberately backed into her vehicle, scratching its rear bumper.
Arrest: Police charged a 75-year-old Girard man with aggravated trespassing after a woman reported seeing someone open a screen door and kick the front door to her mother's East Kline Street home.
LIBERTY
April 3
Burglary/aggravated menacing: A woman selling her residence in the 500 block of Warner Road discovered $150, two rings and a disposable camera stolen after two women in their 50s came to the home apparently posing as buyers or tenants. The victim also told police someone appeared at her door intoxicated and threatened to kill her.
Theft: A man in the 3000 block of Frederick Street reported his wallet, $40, an automated-teller-machine card and a checkbook stolen.
Arrest: Officers picked up a 33-year-old man, no address given, at the Mahoning County Jail, Youngstown, on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. He was accused of robbing a Youngstown woman in a parking lot at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, 500 Gypsy Lane.
April 4
Theft: Someone took 65 lottery tickets from a counter at Punky's Pit Stop, 6670 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A man in the 3800 block of Logan Way discovered two bogus transactions totaling $66 had been made using his debit card.
April 5
Bad checks: An employee at First National Bank, 3718 Belmont Ave., reported a Youngstown man and a Campbell woman tried to pass two checks totaling $700 on a closed account.
Theft: A woman reported the theft of a $250 satellite dish from her yard in the 5000 block of Fifth Avenue.
Drugs: While searching for a fugitive, police say they found suspected marijuana, a suspected marijuana pipe and other suspected drug paraphernalia in a Trumbull Court residence.
Criminal damaging: A man alleged a Girard woman, 21, smashed his vehicle's front windshield during an argument in the 5300 block of Belmont Avenue. Damage was estimated at $300.
April 6
Truck theft/recovered property: A man found his 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck after he reported it stolen from his apartment in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road.
April 7
Felonious assault: A patient at Forum Health Northside Medical Center told police one of two men, 33 and 40, stabbed him in the stomach during an argument the two had with him in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Assault: A James Lane boy, 12, reported another 12-year-old boy punched both sides of his forehead during a fight.
Theft: A man in the 1600 block of Harding Avenue reported his wallet missing. The wallet was found, but $120 had been removed.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Brookfield man reported that while at a residence in the 1000 block of Trumbull Hill Avenue, his vehicle's driver's-side window had been smashed. Stolen were a 35 mm camera and a radar detector, for a loss of $1,100.
Breaking and entering: A Ravenna man called police after someone entered a garage and a home under construction in the 1300 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road and took a garden tub, six windows and two skylights.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle near Fifth Avenue for an expired registration, authorities took a 30-year-old Youngstown woman into custody on a felony warrant charging her with larceny. She also faced a felony count of drug abuse after police say they found a small rock-shaped substance in a pack of cigarettes.
April 9
Domestic violence/drugs: Police arrested a 19-year-old Liberty man and charged him with domestic violence and drug possession. The man's mother said he hit her in the abdomen and struck her daughter in the leg, and authorities say they found a bag of suspected marijuana in his pocket.
