Reserve routs Sebring
John Porterfield led the 21-6 rout going 5-for-5.
SEBRING -- John Porterfield pitched the win and also went 5-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs to lead Western Reserve to a 21-6 win over Sebring Wednesday.
Ryan Lude added three hits, including a double, for the Blue Devils (7-4, 5-1 Inter-County League), while Steve Stack had two hits and three RBIs. Mike Weekly had three hits for the Trojans (3-4).
On Tuesday, Western Reserve's Brandon Moherman (1-1) pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts as the Blue Devils beat Jackson-Milton, 10-0.
Lude hit a three-run home run for the Blue Devils, while Steve Stack doubled and Dave Snowden tripled.
McDonald 8, South Range 7
MCDONALD -- Steven Hughes drove in the tying run on a fielder's choice and then scored the game-winner on David Dugan's single.
Hughes had two doubles, a single and one RBI while Corey Vukovic and Joe Witkoski had two singles each for McDonald (5-5, 3-1 ICL).
For South Range, Eugene Leson hit a three-run homer and two singles and drove in three runs.
Maplewood 14, Southington 4
SOUTHINGTON -- Freshman Mike Fintch struck out four over six innings as Maplewood (4-2, 3-1) won the six-inning Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
Senior Craig Clemson had five RBIs including a three-run home run in the first inning. Senior Jarrett Partridge had a solo homer in the fourth.
Girard 7, Liberty 4
LIBERTY -- R.J. Trimber hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and finished with five RBIs to lead Girard.
Brett Dutton went the distance, striking out three, to get the win.
Joel Buckley had a triple for Liberty.
Leetonia 13, Southern 8
SALINEVILLE -- A nine-run third inning by the Bears was the big difference as it went on to win the Tri-County League game. Winning pitcher Andy Kisner hit three singles and a double to pace Leetonia, while Jon Williams hit a triple and three singles.
Cornerstone 10,Youngstown Christian 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Christian committed 10 errors in an East Suburban Conference game at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Senior A.J. Tate and sophomores Eddie Gonda and Ray Vitelli had a single apiece for Youngstown (2-3, 0-2). Losing pitcher Aaron Agresta, a senior, recorded three strikeouts and allowed only three hits.
