Niles tops Salem, moves to 10-1
SALEM -- Kyle Pitts had two hits and two RBIs Tuesday as the Niles High baseball team defeated Salem, 7-3.
Matt Vince, Sean Cleary and Robbie Porter each scored two runs for the Red Dragons in the Metro Athletic Conference game.
Mike Kelly struck out eight to get the win for Niles (10-1, 4-0).
Ben Miller had three hits, while Jarin Heath and Bryan Wright each added two hits for the Quakers (4-4, 1-4).
Canfield 9, Howland 5
CANFIELD -- Andrew Turocy struck out six batters and walked three over five innings to improve to 2-0.
C.J. Morris' two hits included a double, Kyle Banna homered to drive in two runs and Brett Grabman had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Also for Canfield (6-1, 2-0 MAC), Joe Rosko drove in two runs.
For Howland, Manoli Pahoulis had two hits.
