Austintown trustees OK contract with dispatchers

AUSTINTOWN -- Trustees have approved a contract with the township's dispatchers.
The trustees voted on the contract at their meeting Monday.
The Ohio Patrolman's Benevolent Association contract was extended for one year with no pay raise, but each of the eight union members will receive a $500 signing bonus.
The township also approved contracts last month with firefighters and police. Their unions also accepted one-year extensions with $500 signing bonuses.
Full-time dispatchers make $17.82 per hour. Their health-care co-pay is $20 for single coverage and $30 for family coverage.
