DISTRICT ROUNDUP Peterson paces East Palestine to 8-2 victory

WELLSVILLE -- Chelsea Peterson pitched a four-hitter with 17 strikeouts and she also had a triple, double and two RBIs, to lead East Palestine to an 8-2 victory over Wellsville in a Tri-County League softball game Monday.
Sarah Downey had two singles and two RBIs and Becky Hill a double and single to support East Palestine (8-1, 5-0 TCL).
Ayla Lombardozzi had triple and single to lead Wellsville (2-7, 0-5).
Leetonia 12, Southern 7
LEETONIA -- Sarah Weikart had three singles and Brittany Schroder added a double and triple as Leetonia rolled past Southern.
Ashley Coy pitched the win striking out seven, but walking 10, while Hannah Crews had nine strikeouts in a losing effort for Southern (0-9, 0-5 TCL).
Bobbie Miller and Coy each added two hits for the Bears.
Springfield 4, Sebring 0
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Krista Snyder fired a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk to pace Springfield (4-3, 4-0 Inter-County League). Snyder is 4-1.
Courtney Sheely had a double and two singles and Christy Warren and Whitney Yeager two singles apiece to also lead Springfield.
Jordan Henderson had two singles for Sebring (4-3, 1-2).
Mineral Ridge 7, Lowellville 2
MINERAL RIDGE -- The Rams (6-2, 1-1 ICL) scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie.
Brooke Brdek (2-3) scattered seven hits, with 13 strikeouts, to pick up the win. Melanie Sparks hit two doubles and scored twice for the Rams. Heather Rinehart hit a triple and single, drove in two runs and scored twice. Mara Bellard hit a pair of singles and January Golden stole three bases.
Western Reserve 10, South Range 2
BERLIN CENTER -- The Blue Devils (6-3, 3-1 ICL) broke open the close game with a eight-run fourth inning.
Stevie Banks (5-1) pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to pick up the win. She also hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs. Macy Marra hit a two-run single.
West Branch 8, St. Thomas 0
BELOIT -- Lyndsey Todor (2-6) fired a one-hitter with five strikeouts to pick up the win for the Warriors in a non-league game.
Becky Rinyo hit a pair of singles and drove in four runs for the Warriors. Jen Cook also hit two singles. Brittany Snyder hit a double.
Molly McDowell hit a single, with one out in the seventh inning, to spoil Todor's no-hit bid.
Southeast 6, Ravenna 5
RAVENNA -- The Pirates scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Ravenna took a 4-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning, but the Pirates (2-5) scored five times in the bottom half of the inning.
Meagan Waite hit a double and single for Southeast and Jen Gahagan added two singles. Winning pitcher Shannon Hamilton (1-1) hit a two-run triple.
Brittani Dowdy and Katie Byerly led Ravenna with a double and single apiece.
