"The Ten Commandments" (9 p.m., ABC): Thou shall not covet remakes. Even the presence of Naveen Andrews (Sayid on "Lost") fails to bring much luster to a plodding new adaptation of "The Ten Commandments." Dougray Scott ("Heist") plays Moses and all we can say is that he couldn't carry Charlton Heston's big wooden staff. You may want to skip this one and wait for the 1956 classic, which gets its annual airing on Saturday.
"Einstein's Letter" (9 p.m., The History Channel): Einstein's letter of July 16, 1939, urged President Franklin Roosevelt to develop an atomic bomb, a decision that propelled America into the nuclear age and that Einstein, an ardent pacifist, came to regret.
"Murder at the Fair: The Assassination of President McKinley" (10 p.m., The History Channel): This special recounts the events surrounding the shooting of the 25th president by a young anarchist at the 1901 World's Fair, triggering the succession of Theodore Roosevelt and a new Progressive era in American politics.
