XGirl Scouts of Lake to River Council will hold "Uncorked II" wine tasting as an adult fund-raiser April 28 at Ciminero's Banquet Center, Main Street, Niles. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the evening will include samples of area wines, appetizers and desserts. There will be a silent auction and other activities coordinated by Rich Morgan of WKBN-TV. XKeystone Blind Association will hold a Cigar-B-Q event from 5 to 9 p.m. April 18 at the Shriner Picnic Grounds, Lamor Road, Hermitage, Pa., as a benefit for the Keystone Kids children's program. Admission is $44.99 and includes a chicken, lamb and pork barbecue, keg beer, two cigars, micro-brew and wine tasting, a raffle and a standup comedian show. XWorker Bees of St. Elizabeth Health Center will sponsor a four-man golf outing May 6 at Deer Creek Golf Course as a benefit for the American Cancer Society. The $240 entry fee per team covers green fees, two carts per team, hot dogs at the turn, dinner, and first- and second-place prizes. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
XNorth Star Patchwork Training Center, in Friends House Chapel, 190 Haseltine Ave., is sponsoring a four-month, 200-hour scholarship program for the purpose of training government dependents and other interested parties in quilting, arts and crafts, alterations, stitchery and computer skills in order to become self-sufficient and economically developed. The program runs from April 18 through July 20. Upon completion a job, placement program will be available, based on performance. Volunteer craft teachers are needed and will receive free computer lessons in exchange for services. For details call the Rev. Lillie B.
