Washington & amp; Jefferson 12, Bethany 7 -- Shaun Pfeil cracked a three-run homer in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie and the Presidents (14-5, 4-2) pulled away for a victory over Bethany College. W & amp;J took two of three from the Bison in the weekend series.
Capital 4-7, Mount Union 1-8 -- With the split, the Purple Raiders are 15-7, 5-1 OAC. Capital is 7-12, 1-3.
Grove City 10, Thomas More 6 (13 innings) -- Grove City College improved to 6-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with the come-from-behind victory. The PAC-leading Wolverines (13-5 overall) tied the game with two two-out runs in the top of the ninth, then won the game with four runs in the 13th inning.
Thiel 20, Westminster 3 -- Thiel completed its three-game Presidents' Athletic Conference sweep. Senior designated hitter Mark Nightingale (East Liverpool) and senior right fielder Brett Bell (Badger) each drove in five runs. The Tomcats are 15-10, 5-4.
SOFTBALL
Mount Union 8-3, Wilmington 0-2 -- Lindsey Royer (8-2) threw a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the opener for the Raiders (20-6, 6-0 OAC). Wilmington (4-17, 2-4) fell behind 3-0 after six innings in the nightcap.
Capital 5-9, Bethany 2-2 -- The opener took 15 innings and set a Bethany record for longest game in school history. The Crusaders are 13-12-1 and the Bison are 11-15. In the first game, the Bison were held to just five hits in the contest, including two by senior CF Emily Patton (Poland).
