Ric Beck of Westerville, above, is a board member of the Friends of Ohio Barns group. He shaped a timber during a barn repair seminar Sunday at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty, part of the three-day seventh annual Ohio Barn Conference. About 80 people attended the event, which showed people who own old barns how to preserve and extend the structures' life. At right is a detail of the barn timber.
