Murray rumored to bemore than queen's escort
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Actor Chad Michael Murray appeared here this week at the 59th Azalea Festival with a high-school senior, who was wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger, on his arm.
Murray, who plays basketball player Lucas Scott on "One Tree Hill," filmed in Wilmington, was at Wilmington International Airport on Wednesday for the Azalea Festival queen's welcoming ceremony. He was with Kenzie Dalton, a local high school senior, who was a member of the princess' court and who has appeared on "One Tree Hill" in a minor role.
People.com reported several days earlier that the two were engaged. A message left for Murray's publicist Thursday was not immediately returned. Dalton declined to answer questions.
Murray did not accompany Dalton for the rest of the day's ceremonies, including the crowning of "All My Children" actress Tanisha Lynn as queen. Lynn plays Danielle Frye on the ABC soap opera.
Murray was married last year to "One Tree Hill" co-star Sophia Bush. They split up in September, and she filed to annul the marriage at the end of February.

Ex-teen idol jailedfor failing drug test
LOS ANGELES -- Leif Garrett has been sent to jail for 45 days after failing several drug tests while staying in a strict drug rehabilitation program, authorities said. The 44-year-old former teen idol began the sentence March 30 after a Superior Court commissioner determined he had violated terms of his rehab program, Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office, said Thursday. Garrett agreed to enter the program for violating probation in a cocaine case stemming from a 2004 arrest.
After his last progress hearing March 9, Garrett told reporters he had made improvement in fighting his addiction. Commissioner Melissa Widdifield scheduled his next progress hearing for May 11.
Garrett also faces felony heroin possession charges after officers who stopped him Jan. 14 for allegedly trying to ride a Los Angeles subway train without a ticket said they found suspected narcotics. He has pleaded innocent in that case.
