Man dies 2 days after shooting
YOUNGSTOWN -- The second victim of a late Friday shooting at an 840 Martin Luther King Blvd. apartment died Sunday morning, police said.
Names of the two dead men have not been released by police.
The latest victim to die was described by police as about 20, 140 pounds and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was found lying on the porch in front of the door to Apartment 19. He had a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for surgery and had been in critical condition.
Another man was dead at the scene. Police said he had gunshot wounds to his left temple/eye area and his chest. He, too, was found in Apartment 19, lying on a living room couch. He was described by police as about 40, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
The apartment shootings were reported at 11:50 p.m. Friday. Authorities had made no arrests.
These deaths, if ruled homicides, would make five in Youngstown this year, compared with nine at this time in 2005.
