STRUTHERS -- A lottery player who purchased a Rolling Cash 5 game ticket Friday at Center Foods, 293 Center Street, is holding a ticket worth $439,000. According to the Ohio Lottery Commission, one player had the right combination for the jackpot. The winning numbers were 8-23-26-31-37.
Training exercise
VIENNA -- The Youngstown Air Reserve Station and Trumbull County Local Emergency Planning Committee will be conducting a large-scale training exercise involving police, fire and emergency medical services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Several roads around the station will be closed, including King Graves Road from state Route 193 to state Route 11, and Ridge Road from King Graves to Cadwallader-Sonk Road. Surrounding fire departments, law enforcement agencies, local EMS, county, state and federal agencies, the regional hazardous materials team and local hospitals will be involved in the exercise.
New meeting place
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners will have their regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the Bloomfield Township Garage, 2063 state Route 87. "This is an effort of the commissioners to bring government closer to the people," the meeting notice says. Meetings are usually held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the county Administration Building on High Street downtown.
4-H Frozen Food Sale
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning County annual 4-H Frozen Food Sale is going on now through May 5. A variety of bulk frozen fruits and vegetables and quick snacks and meals are available. A percentage of the proceeds supports the Mahoning County 4-H program and allows individual 4-H members to earn money toward various activities such as 4-H Junior Camp. Frozen-food order forms are available at the Mahoning County Extension Office, 490 S. Broad St. The order deadline is May 5. Frozen-food pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16 at the Extension Office. All orders must be picked up that day and paid for in full. Cash or checks will be accepted. Easter egg hunt
WARREN -- The eighth annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will be at 11 a.m. April 17 at the Alliance Community Outreach Program Center, 2051 Niles Road S.E. This event is free to children under the age of 12. The event is sponsored by the center and Trumbull County Children Services, with egg and candy donations received from the local community. Besides thousands of eggs filled with candy, children will receive other prizes. Refreshments will be provided. There is no rain date for this event.
