ASPCA asks people to wear orange to mark anniversary
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals marks its 140th anniversary this year, and the organization encourages people to wear orange Monday to show support for ASPCA's efforts on behalf of animals.
In New York City, ASPCA's home, many Big Apple buildings will be lighting up orange -- the official ASPCA color -- on Monday.
Other big cities, including Chicago and Los Angeles will be going orange, too.
ASPCA, the oldest animal-care organization in the Western Hemisphere, encourages everyone to wear orange or persuade governmental bodies to flash orange lights on city, village and town halls.
Office workers are encouraged to decorate offices with orange or decorate doors with orange bows.
