Sheriff's son to face trespassing charge
WARREN -- Michael L. Altiere, 22, of Cain Drive, a son of Trumbull County Sheriff Thomas Altiere, will have a pretrial hearing at 1:30 p.m. May 23 in municipal court on a criminal trespassing charge.
The younger Altiere, who was freed on $1,000 bond, pleaded innocent to the charge during his arraignment before Judge Terry Ivanchak.
City police arrested him after they said he refused multiple requests to leave the Up a Creek Tavern on East Market Street early Tuesday, when the bar closed after a large fight outside the establishment.
A DUI charge filed against the younger Altiere in Howland, while he was home on a military leave in 2004, was dismissed because he returned to service in Iraq.
