Poland baseball tops Howland Thursday

HOWLAND -- Poland High scored four runs in the top of the second inning and went on to a 6-1 victory over Howland Thursday in a Metro Athletic Conference baseball game.
Paul Hay (2-0) pitched a complete game to pick up the win. Frank Larubbio paced the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 Metro Athletic Conference) with two hits and two RBIs. Jim Pasquine and Don Stanovcak each had two hits.
Tony Pozega led the Tigers with a double and single.
Crestview 12, East Palestine 1
EAST PALESTINE -- An eight-run fifth inning was the big difference as the Rebels turned back East Palestine in a Tri-County League game.
Winning pitcher Greg Brown paced the Rebels with three singles, while Jordan Reynolds, with 4 RBIs, hit a home run and single and Mike Wylie had two hits. Freshman Corey Hill hit a home run.
East Palestine was led by Jake Harvey sho hit a pair of singles. Dave Linert hit a RBI double.
