Invitation extended for first Biology Day



YOUNGSTOWN -- Alumni, students and the community are invited to the first Biology Day conducted by the Department of Biological Sciences at Youngstown State University on April 20.
The event, which will be on the third floor of Ward Beecher Hall, will showcase research activities within the department and inform undergraduate and graduate students on the variety of research opportunities that exist at YSU.
Students can meet faculty and learn about internships, summer research programs, graduate school and careers in science.
Graduate and undergraduate students will make poster presentations, which will be judged for awards.
Dr. Christine Moravic of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation will give a research presentation at 12:30 p.m. in Room 3022, titled "Intracellular Signaling in Human Heart Failure." She will also give a graduate educational opportunities presentation.
Faculty informational sessions will be offered throughout the day in Room 3028. Various faculty will be available to talk about their research and meet with interested students about opportunities to get involved in their laboratories.
