INDICTMENTS | Mahoning County
A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted John Weaver, 28, of Hawthorne Street, Youngstown, on one count of murder with firearm specifications, felonious assault with firearm specifications, illegal possession of a weapon or weapons and burglary. Weaver, who has a criminal record, is charged with fatally shooting Arlis Casey, 35, of East Florida Avenue on Jan. 2, wounding Wadell Casey, 29, of Hamrock Drive, Campbell, and burglarizing Arlis Casey's home. Arlis Casey was found dead on Hawthorne Street, where police think Wadell Casey was also shot. He drove himself to St. Elizabeth Health Center after being wounded.
The grand jury issued a superseding indictment against Alfie T. Sloane, 28, on four counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, eight counts of rape, seven counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of attempted rape. Sloane is accused of molesting three girls, ages 6, 10 and 11, who lived in the neighborhood near him, in 2000 and 2001. His trial is scheduled to begin June 12.

Ted R. Arbrogast, 49, state Route 172, Minerva; driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Raymond L. Burney, 47, West Boston Avenue, Youngstown; possession of cocaine.
James L. Harris, 46, homeless; attempted theft, vandalism, criminal damaging.
Stephen E. Hogan, 36, Midland Avenue, Youngstown; failure to comply with order or signal of police.
Avery Lightner, 18, Crandall Avenue, Youngstown; illegal conveyance or possession of deadly weapon in school safety zone.
Samuel J. Pete, 20, Hayman Street, Youngstown; receiving stolen property.
Brandon Owens, 22, Lexington Avenue, Youngstown; illegal possession of a weapon or weapons, carrying concealed weapons, possession of cocaine with firearm specification.
Timothy Clinkscale, 46, Arlington Street, Youngstown; possession of cocaine.
Lee Webb, 46, Teegarden Road, Lisbon; possession of cocaine.
Arthur W. Perkins, 36, Cabot Street, Youngstown; theft, attempted breaking and entering.
Robert P. Klingensmith, 50, Pennsylvania Avenue, Poland; forgery, securing writings by deception, misuse of credit card.
Ken Lucas, 26, Viola Street, Hubbard; burglary.
Jeffrey E. Willard, 33, Thrush Drive, Lake Milton; possession of cocaine.

Deborah Lynn Barnes, also known as Debra Lynn Jackson, 50, East Philadelphia Avenue, Youngstown; theft.
Willis Smith Jr., 22, Applecrest Court, Boardman; possession of cocaine.
Darvin Vargas, 22, East Albanus Street, Philadelphia, Pa.; improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Tommy Hilson, 22, Jacobs Road, Hubbard; improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Irving James, 50, West Marion Avenue, Youngstown; possession of cocaine.
Andrew J. Steiner, 47, and Edward A. Itayim, 45, doing business as Eastern International and Party Mart, 1600 Albert Street, Youngstown; illegal use of food stamps (two counts), telecommunications fraud, possessing criminal tools, complicity to telecommunications fraud, complicity to illegal use of food stamps.
James James, 43, Addison Road, Brookfield; possession of cocaine.
Roosevelt Kellie Jr., 51, Roxbury Avenue, Youngstown; possession of drugs (two counts) with forfeiture specifications.
The grand jury also issued one secret indictment for possession of drugs with forfeiture specifications. Names of people secretly indicted are made public after they are arrested.
