BOTKINS, Ohio (AP) -- A train struck a car at a rail crossing that has no lights or crossing arms, killing two 5-year-olds on their way to preschool and injuring two other people near this western Ohio town, authorities said. The children were in the back seat when the train struck the car Wednesday afternoon at a crossing marked only with cross bucks, signs with white X's on poles, said Scott Atwood, a Shelby County deputy sheriff. Brooklyn Cron of Jackson Center died at the scene and Jacob Valentine of Anna was pronounced dead at Children's Medical Center in Dayton, deputies said. The driver, Armenda Valentine, 28, of St. Marys, was treated at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. She is Jacob's aunt. Her son, Nikolas Billings, 5, was in serious condition Thursday at Children's. He also was in the back seat. Botkins is about 50 miles north of Dayton.
