Woman is arrested during rock concert

An hour before the arrest, the Masury woman was told to leave and not come back.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 35-year-old intoxicated Masury woman wrestled with security staff as she climbed to the Chevrolet Centre stage during a hard-rock concert, police said.
Krista R. Johnson of Superior Street was arraigned Tuesday in municipal court after being held overnight in the Mahoning County jail. She is charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.
Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly released Johnson on her own recognizance. The woman will be back in court May 8 for a pretrial hearing.
Patrolmen Greg Mullenex and Jeff Roberts said in their report that they first came into contact with Johnson around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Chevrolet Centre, when she slapped a security guard in the face with her right shoe. The guard decline to press charges, and Johnson was told to leave the property and not return.
Mullenex and Roberts said that when they went to check on another fight inside the downtown arena, Johnson forced her way back inside, ran to the stands and made her way to the stage.
At the time, the metal band Korn was the featured performer.
Johnson, once back inside the arena, climbed over a security barrier and onto equipment cases belonging to the bands, police said. She continued to make her way to the stage despite attempts by several security guards to stop her, reports show.
What happened next
When she reached the lower stage and started to climb steps to the main stage -- jeopardizing the welfare of the band -- guards grabbed her, police said. She then began to swing and kick at the security staff, striking several of them, reports show.
As with the earlier encounter, none of the security staff wanted to press charges.
Eventually, a security guard grabbed Johnson by her left leg and left arm and dragged her down to the main concourse to Mullenex and Roberts. Once handcuffed around 11:30 p.m., the woman began yelling obscenities and racial slurs "in an attempt to incite more violence from the crowd that was beginning to gather," police said.
The city officers said they moved Johnson to a room next to the concession stand to get her away from the crowd. They said she refused to identify herself and continued the tirade of profanities.
Police learned Johnson's identity after tracking down her husband and a friend.
