"Pepper Dennis" - Tuesday's Best Bets on TV
"Pepper Dennis" (9 p.m., the WB): Rebecca Romijn jumps from feature films to prime time in "Pepper Dennis." It's a mildly amusing dramedy about a beautiful and ambitious -- and somewhat klutzy -- TV reporter whose goal is to someday anchor Chicago's top-rated evening newscast. Also featured: Josh Hopkins, Brooke Burns and Lindsay Price.
"Search for the Funniest Mom in America 2" (10 p.m., Nickelodeon): Katey Sagal hosts the hunt for a comic mom in this five-part reality series. Ten participants, lodged in a Manhattan penthouse suite, compete for laughs in a series of challenges, such as auditions and children's entertainment. One test sends the moms to the streets, where they hope to draw laughs from pedestrians. Five finalists will do their stand-up best for an audience of hundreds. The prize is $50,000 plus a shot at developing a show on Nick. The show airs in its 9:30 p.m. slot starting April 11.
"King of Cars" (10 p.m., A & amp;E): Would you buy a car from a man who calls himself "Chop"? The hip-hopping Las Vegas used-car dealer who also stars in infomercials is the subject of this new series, which spotlights his sales force in action. The show goes behind the scenes of the campy weekly "Chop Show" infomercials, complete with costumes and recurring characters.
