Powers to display children's winning art

YOUNGSTOWN -- Artwork from an art contest for children in grades four through eight will be displayed at Powers Auditorium throughout April.
The Women's Committee for Children's Concerts, an affiliate of the Youngstown Symphony, sponsored the contest with the Young Peoples' concerts scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Schools reserve seating at the concerts in advance.
The theme for this year's contest was "The Beat Goes On."
The winners, by grade, are:
Grade 4: Eilish Deuley, home-schooled.
Grade 5: Courtney Powell, Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley.
Grade 6: Olivia Murphy, Willow Creek Learning Center.
Grade 7: Bence Tama, Willow Creek Learning Center.
Grade 8: Lea VanKline, Willow Creek Learning Center.
