CONFERENCE What's offered



A three-day symposium "Beyond Numbers, Beyond Names: The Experience of Holocaust Victims" is under way at Youngstown State University. Events include:
A lecture "The Political and the Social: Toward a Comprehensive Interpretation of the Holocaust" by Dalia Ofer, 2 p.m. today in Kilcawley Center's Chestnut Room. Ofer is chairwoman of Holocaust Studies at Hebrew University in Israel.
A screening of "Diamonds in the Snow," a documentary about hidden children of the Holocaust. A discussion with director Mira Binford will follow at 8 p.m. today in the Chestnut Room.
A panel discussion "An Analysis of Victim Documentation" will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today in the Humphrey Room/President's Suite In Kilcawley Center.
A series of panel discussions will take place beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday and will include personal and family histories pertaining to the Holocaust, experiences of displaced Jewish people in post-war Germany, and ways to memorialize victims.
