Anniversary to be celebrated by the Fajacks



XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Fajack, 2575 Dogwood Drive, will celebrate 50 years of marriage at a dinner party and during a trip arranged by their family.
The dinner party will be held April 8 at Caf & eacute; Capri in Boardman, and the trip will be taken during the summer.
Their family includes Michele and Gary Nicholson, Ralph and Maria Fajack, and Sonja and Scott Morton; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
The couple received a papal blessing from Pope John Paul II on their 25th anniversary and from Pope Benedict in celebration of their 50th.
The former JoAnne Pallante and Mr. Fajack married April 7, 1956, in the first wedding to be held at St. Christine Church, which is now the bingo hall. They are members of St. Cyril and Methodius Church.
Mrs. Fajack taught adult education classes at local high schools for many years. She has a degree in computer science and creative writing, and is the owner and designer of her own Web and graphic department. She designs hooked rugs and teaches classes in the art of rug hooking.
Mr. Fajack served four years with the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Youngstown Police Department after 33 years of service. He headed the juvenile department for many years, and was also the top detective and wore Badge No. 1, which was retired with him. He was instrumental in solving many murder cases.
