The Clippers are ranked sixth in this week's Associated Press poll of Ohio's Division VI teams. The Clippers approach what Coach Bob Spaite considers the meat of the schedule: Leetonia, Lisbon, East Palestine and Crestview. All four are traditional rivals and games against Leetonia, East Palestine and Crestview involve traveling trophies. "Those are Ohio State-Michigan kind of games," Spaite said. "All three of those consider us their No. 1 rival. I'm sure Lisbon feels that we're certainly one of [its] top two rivals. It's definitely the 'high hurdles' part of the season, without question." In the win over Wellsville, Joey Winters rushed for 119 yards on 29 carries and Mike Welce passed for 166 yards by completing 6-of-11 throws. Joe Kornack caught a 75-yard touchdown pass. The Bears trailed United 14-7 at halftime before rallying. Jake Kruegel had a 14-yard touchdown and Corey Raushenbach scored on a 20-yard run.
