Perry trustees name representative to board

SALEM -- The Perry Township trustees have named their representative to the new Quaker Community Fire District.
Trustee Jerry Wolford said Tuesday that Trustee Larry Parker will represent the trustees on the five-member board.
Wolford said last week he thought that decision would take time. "We decided to move ahead," Wolford added.
The district would eliminate the Salem and township fire departments. The plan is on hold pending a court decision.
Wolford still expects it will take a year to resolve the case.
The trustees have several people they are considering for the township's second representative. The city and township each appoint two members, who will elect a fifth member.
