Luthern, Toth score goals in Poland's 2-0 triumph
Champion and Hubbard tied while Warren JFK lost to Akron SVSM.
POLAND -- Ashley Luthern and Jessi Toth scored goals as the Poland High girls soccer team blanked Boardman 2-0 Monday.
Luthern took a pass from Ashley Cuba and turned it into a 1-0 lead for the Bulldogs (7-2).
Sarah Anderson got the assist on the Toth goal.
Poland goalkeeper Sam Stanich made three saves. Loni Vlad saved six balls for the Spartans (3-4-2).
JVs: Poland, 4-0.
Champion 3, Hubbard 3
HUBBARD -- Kelsey Denyen scored two goals and Jordana Lima added one as Hubbard battled to a tie against the Golden Flashes.
The Eagles (4-6-2) also got an assist from Shannon Sarisky and goalkeeper Bonnie Besze made 13 saves.
Champion (6-3-2) had goals from Brittany Bako, Brittany Skeels and Aleissa Boggess while Skeels and Gina Calderone each had an assist. Goalkeeper Kelly Dillon made nine saves.
Akron SVSM 5,Warren JFK 1
WARREN -- Mel Esposito scored for the Eagles (6-4-1) on an assist from Lisa Perisa. Goalkeeper Jacqee Lombardi made 19 saves.
SVSM is 6-4-1.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Vlad Lungu scored two goals for Ursuline in a 5-2 win over Hubbard.
Justin Mihaly and Lucas Gonzalex each had a goal and an assist for the Irish (7-3-1). Kevin Patrick also scored a goal on an assist from Dan Grimes.
Goalkeepers Jared Daly and Airic Puhalla combined for 13 saves.
For Hubbard (4-4-1), Lex Gasco scored on a penalty kick and Alex Chick scored on an assist from Anthony Greco. Goalkeepers Joe Cummings and Galen Hayek combined for 12 saves.
